Hurricane Sandy Recovery
After a direct hit from Hurricane Sandy(Category 1) the country is still picking up the pieces and trying to return to normal. The parishes of Portland, St. Mary and St. Thomas were badly hit and many cash crops such as banana were almost wiped out, electricity is the main concern of persons though with four days gone and some persons still without the service.
Digicel Jamaica Foundation 5K Run
Digicel indeed took back the night with their foundation’s 5K run on Saturday October 20, 2012, their new corporate headquarters at Port Royal Street, Downtown was the starting and ending point. Many sponsors were represented on the grounds of the headquarters and there were many runners, walkers and wheelchair participants including local entertainers, personalities and politicians. All things considered it was a successful and incident free charitable event that served to put Downtown Kingston on the map again, Digicel indeed took back the night!
Island Rockers Launch - October 17, 2012
Island Rockers is the newest reality television series to hit Jamaica, and if its launch is anything to go by then it will be an entertaining success. Here are some moments from the launch and be sure to watch the show on CVM television starting this November.
Jamaica Cultural Development Commission’s Best of Festival - Drama
Here are some scenes from JCDC’s Best of Festival(Drama), the pieces were quite good and are an indication of the abundance of talent that exists in Jamaica. I will definitely be looking forward to next year.
